It’s so much fun choosing one of the sequences and then changing it up a little to make it “mine”. It has allowed me to really focus on my cueing – the main reason I felt insecure – because I’m not having to spend so much time creating the perfect sequence (which will come with time and experience). Let me just say, I bring my spiral-bound book with me to class every time I teach now and it has literally transformed my practice and helped me become a more confident teacher. I had come across No Prep Yoga Plans in April and was curious but didn’t buy it until June because I felt like it was cheating (ha!). In June, a friend connected me with a gym owner who was looking for a part-time yoga teacher and it terrified me but I took the position! ![]() Fast forward to April 2021 and I really started getting the urge to teach but still felt insecure. 2020 and was grateful for the experience but didn’t think I would ever have the confidence to teach. Needless to say, it was not the training that I had expected nor did I get the in-person experience that would have helped me to really feel confident in my ability to teach. 2020 and my program quickly converted to online due to the pandemic. No Prep Yoga Plans is everything I wish I had learned in yoga teacher training and more, all organized in a quick and easy format for quick reference and use. Later, I thought it would be a great idea to make these resources available to other yoga teachers like me. In an effort to jumpstart my yoga teaching teaching, I spent hours and hours putting together my own compilation of sequences, class openers, and meditation scripts. After 12-months of trainings, I left with a half- dozen yoga sequence stick figures that me and the students had made and distributed amongst ourselves. Part of the problem was definitely those new teacher jitters, but even more so, my yoga teacher training left me with some definite gaps. I didn’t feel I knew enough or was sufficiently prepared to start teaching yoga, and I completely lacked confidence. I’m not sure about you, but after I completed my very first teacher training program, I felt I needed to go through another one, and I wasn’t alone.
